A balcony ride above the Rhône, from Valence through the Ardèche hills down to Montélimar.
Ardèche Balcony Line leaves Valence on the western bank of the Rhône and climbs straight into the hills of the Ardèche. Instead of following the busy valley floor, the Line traces balcony roads with wide views over the Rhône, threads through oak woods, limestone ridges and small stone villages, and drops back towards Montélimar at the doorstep of the Drôme Provençale. It is the first half of the old Valence–Avignon crossing, now shorter, sharper and with Montélimar as a natural new Hub on the way south.
